Start With What Goes Inside
Most box problems start when the box is chosen before the contents are set. Get these four numbers first.
Sachet size. Measure one sachet flat. Include the tag and string. Pyramid bags are taller than they look, so measure the height too.
How many per box. Sachets squash when stacked. If you size the box to the loose stack, it will bulge. If you size it too tight, the top sachets slide around. Measure the stack when it is resting, then add 2 to 3mm.
Inner pouch size. Most CBD tea packaging is really two layers. A foil or kraft pouch inside, and a printed box outside. The box is sized to the sealed pouch, not to the tea.
Fill weight. Loose leaf tea is sold by weight. Send us the grams and the size of your tin or pouch.
What the Box Really Protects
This tells you where to spend your money.
Light yes. CBD and tea aromas break down in light. A printed box blocks it. This is why windows on CBD tea should stay small.
Dust and handling yes. Shelves, counters and delivery all scuff a bare pouch. The box takes that damage instead.
Crushing yes, with the right board. Use 18pt or heavier for a retail tea box. Thinner board bends inside shipping cases.
Moisture and aroma no. This is the part most suppliers get wrong. Paperboard does not block moisture. It does not hold aroma either. That job belongs to the inner pouch or tin. If there is no barrier layer inside, the tea will go stale no matter how good the box is.
So spend on a good barrier inside, and a good box outside. They do different jobs.
Box Styles for Tea
Straight tuck the usual choice for 10 to 30 sachets. Clean front, flaps at the back.
Reverse tuck is cheaper to make. Slightly less tidy on the shelf. Good for bulk CBD tea boxes.
Seal end glued top and bottom. Best when you want tamper evidence and a tear strip.
Window box good for loose leaf, where the tea itself sells the product. Keep the window small because of light.
Rigid box for gift sets and multi-flavour packs. Add a die-cut insert to hold sachets or tins in place.
Corrugated mailer for subscriptions and online orders. It ships around your retail box, not instead of it.
Sleeve a printed band over a plain box or tin. The cheapest way to get custom printed CBD tea boxes when testing a new flavour.

Kraft CBD tea boxes suit natural and plant-based brands, which is most of this market. But know the trade-off. Brown board makes printed colours look warmer. Blues turn muddy. White ink is the only way to get real white. If your brand colours must be exact, ask for a proof on kraft before you order.
About your label panel. CBD tea carries a lot of required text. Ingredients, net weight, CBD content, servings, batch number, a QR code to your lab report, and any state warnings.
Two things we have learned printing these:
Use matte, not gloss, on text panels. Gloss reflects store lighting and makes small text hard to read.
Give your QR code room. A code printed small, over a pattern, or in a brand colour instead of black often fails to scan. Print it at least 20mm square, in black, on a clear area.
About Compliance
We build your layout with space for every field you need. Ingredients, warnings, dosage, batch and lot, QR code, barcode.
We do not decide what your label must say. CBD rules are different in every state and they change. Child-resistant rules also vary. Send us your required text and any CR standard you must meet, and we will build the box to it.
If a supplier tells you their box makes your product compliant, they cannot know that. Be careful.
Eco Friendly and Wholesale
Eco-friendly CBD tea packaging is available in recyclable kraft, cardboard and corrugated.
One thing to watch. Some laminations and foils make a box harder to recycle. If you plan to print a recycling claim on the box, tell us first. We will pick a finish that supports the claim instead of working against it.
For wholesale CBD tea boxes, we run up to 500,000 units a month. Cost per box drops a lot with volume. Colour also matches better across one big run than across several small ones. That matters when a flavour range needs to look like a set.
