Labubu Blind Box

A labubu blind box is a sealed, opaque paperboard carton that conceals which figure from a series is inside until the buyer opens it. Standard cartons measure 3" × 3" × 4.3" internally for vinyl figures and 4" × 3.1" × 6" for pendant plush. Effective blind box packaging requires opaque 350 GSM minimum board, weight-matched blanks and a tamper-evident seal so buyers cannot identify rare variants before purchase. Order a custom Labubu blind box built to your exact figure. We manufacture blind box cartons, window packs, rigid collector cases and display units for standard vinyl, pendant plush and oversized figures.

What Is a Labubu Blind Box?

A labubu blind box is a sealed carton that conceals which figure from a series a buyer has until they open it. That concealment is the entire commercial mechanic it turns one purchase into six, because nobody completes a set on the first try. The packaging is not a wrapper around the product. In a blind box release, the packaging is half the product.

That puts a real engineering burden on the carton. It has to stay opaque under strong light, weigh the same as every other box in the run, resist being opened and resealed in-store, protect a small top-heavy figure through the post, and still look good enough that the buyer films the unboxing. Ordinary retail cartons do none of these things.

We manufacture customized Labubu blind boxes for resellers, independent toy studios, boutique retailers, subscription operators and gifting brands. Every box is cut to the figure it holds rather than pulled from a stock-size shelf.

Who Orders From Us

Resellers and secondary-market sellers who need figures to arrive in graded condition with their own branding on the outer carton rather than a plain mailer. Independent toy studios launching original designer figures who need blind box packaging that holds its own next to mass-market releases. Boutique retailers ordering counter display units that hold a full series and convert a checkout counter into an impulse-buy zone. Subscription box operators packing a rotating figure alongside accessories, where one carton has to accommodate several SKU heights. Gift and event brands building hampers and party favours around a collectible centrepiece.

Different businesses, one shared requirement: the box has to fit precisely, ship without damage, and look worth keeping on a shelf.

Labubu Blind Box Sizes and Dimensions

Internal fit decides everything downstream. Undersize the cavity and the figure deforms; oversize it and the figure rattles, ears take the impact, and the box arrives dented. These are the sizes we cut most often:

Figure type Internal size (W × D × H) Suggested style
Standard vinyl figure 3" × 3" × 4.3" Straight tuck end blind box
Pendant / plush keychain 4" × 3.1" × 6" Reverse tuck or window box
Seated / larger vinyl 4.5" × 4" × 5.5" Two-piece rigid or window
Oversized 400% figure 8" × 7" × 15" Corrugated mailer with foam
Retail display carton Holds 6, 9 or 12 units Auto-bottom counter display

These are starting points, not limits. Send the figure or its measurements and we cut to your exact spec with no tooling charge above 250 units. If you run several SKUs of differing heights, we can standardise the footprint and vary only depth, so your display cartons and shipping trays stay interchangeable across the whole range.

Blind Box Integrity the Part Most Suppliers Skip

If buyers can identify rare variants before purchase, the economics of your series collapse. They will try, and a determined collector will find any tell you leave. We build in four safeguards as standard:

Weight matching. Every blank in a run comes from the same board lot at the same caliper, so finished cartons fall within a tight weight tolerance. Customers cannot shake, heft, or scale-test their way to a chase figure. Where the figures themselves differ in mass, we add matched-weight filler to the lighter inserts.

Opaque board, full-coverage print. No silhouette under strong light, no backlighting through thin stock. We specify 350 GSM minimum with a white-lined interior for all blind box work.

Tamper-evident sealing. Perforated tear strips, void-on-removal security labels, or heat-sealed inner bags. A buyer who opens a box on the shop floor cannot reseal it and put it back.

Matched print across the series. Batch codes, registration dots and ink shifts between runs are exactly how collectors crack a set. We print the full series as a single run from matched plates so no unintended markers appear.

Box Styles We Manufacture

Straight tuck end. The classic blind box format flaps tuck top and bottom, front panel stays clean for artwork, blanks ship and store flat. Most cost-effective at volume.

Reverse tuck end. Marginally cheaper to die-cut from a single blank. Best where print budget matters more than the front-panel seam.

Snap-lock / auto-bottom. The base locks itself as the box pops open, so packers assemble in seconds. Worth the small premium once you are shipping hundreds of units weekly.

Window boxes. PET or PVC panels let buyers see the figure without opening — arched, die-cut silhouettes or full-face, patched with clear film that will not yellow. The right choice for retail shelves and for sellers who need the figure visible while sealed.

Two-piece rigid boxes. Lid and base in 1,200-1,600 GSM greyboard wrapped in printed art paper. Collector-grade custom printed Labubu doll packaging that holds shape indefinitely and stays on the shelf next to the figure.

Magnetic closure rigid boxes. Concealed magnets give that weighted snap on opening. Pairs naturally with foam or EVA inserts for limited editions.

Corrugated mailers. E-flute or B-flute for direct-to-consumer shipping, with the printed retail box protected inside or as a single combined retail-and-ship carton.

Counter display cartons. Auto-bottom trays holding 6, 9 or 12 units, folding flat for storage and opening into a branded countertop unit. Print the inside of the lid; that panel faces customers all day and most brands waste it.

Inserts That Actually Hold the Figure

An insert is not a formality it decides whether the ears arrive intact.

  • Die-cut paperboard cavities recyclable, cost-effective, correct for standard vinyl at volume
  • EVA foam dense, non-shedding, cut to the figure's silhouette; the standard for rigid boxes
  • Moulded pulp trays compostable with strong shock absorption, suited to eco-positioned ranges
  • Corrugated fitments and dividers for multi-packs, full-series sets and advent formats
  • Thermoformed PET trays — clear, precise, showcase-grade for premium display packaging

We prototype the insert alongside the carton and drop-test the pair before production, because a well-made box with a loose insert still fails.

Four Mistakes That Ruin a Blind Box Release

Board that is too thin. Anything under 300 GSM telegraphs the figure's silhouette under shop lighting and crushes in transit. This is the most common and most expensive error.

A cavity cut to the figure's outer dimensions. Leave 1-2 mm of clearance or the insert will scuff paintwork every time the box is handled.

Variant-specific print. Running each figure's carton as a separate job introduces colour and registration differences collectors will spot within days.

No seal. An unsealed carton can be opened, inspected and reshelved in any physical store, which quietly destroys the series for every honest buyer after them.

Materials and Board Weights

Material Weight Best for
SBS / cardstock 300-400 GSM Blind boxes, tuck-end retail cartons
Kraft board 350-400 GSM Eco-positioned and natural-finish ranges
E-flute corrugated 1.5 mm Shipping-safe retail boxes, larger figures
B-flute corrugated 3 mm Bulk cartons and master shippers
Rigid greyboard 1,200-1,600 GSM Collector editions and gift sets

All stock is FSC-certified and recyclable. Soy-based inks and water-based coatings are available across the range at no premium.

Printing, Finishing and Getting Your Logo Right

Offset CMYK and Pantone above 500 units; digital for shorter runs and multi-SKU series where each variant carries different artwork. Finishes include matte, gloss, soft-touch and anti-scratch lamination, spot UV, gold and silver foil stamping, embossing, debossing, holographic board and inner-panel printing for a second reveal on opening.

For a Labubu blind box with logo, three specs matter: 5 mm bleed on every panel, critical text and logo marks kept 4 mm inside the trim, artwork supplied at 300 DPI in CMYK. Send RGB files anyway if that is what you have our prepress team converts and returns a proof showing exactly how colours will shift before anything reaches a plate.

Original Artwork and Brand Safety

We print your designs, your characters and your logos. We do not reproduce third-party trademarks, licensed character art or brand trade dress, and we will flag it during proofing if a file looks like it crosses that line.

If you are a reseller who needs the figure visible rather than branded, window boxes and clear protector cases solve that with no artwork question at all. If you are launching an original designer figure, our team develops artwork with you from scratch. Either route keeps your listings live and your stock out of a seizure notice.
